Re-wiring a property can be messy and disruptive.

At Choice Electrical Services our aim is to undertake the rewiring of a property in the least disruptive manner possible we understand the needs of our clients and always try to ensure the completion of works are carried out with this in mind.

As we are becoming more reliant on our electrical devices for day to day living, to meet that demand for extra power we need to ensure that the wiring that provides energy to our homes is in good condition and fit for purpose, at best poor wiring may cause you to lose power – at worst, faulty wires can be a potential fire hazard and could even lead to serious injury.

The rewiring of a home generally happens in two stages ” First Fix ” & ” Second Fix ” :

Stage 1 – First Fix

This is when the cables and wiring are installed and new back boxes may need to be fitted this involves the lifting of floorboards to enable cable runs between rooms and walls and any chasing out of the walls for new socket points and lighting points.

At first fix stage the customer needs to have thought about what you want and where, at the quotation phase we will discuss this with you and help you to decide where you would like your socket outlets and light switches placed this is to avoid any time consuming ( and potentially costly ) changes when the first fix is done.

Stage 2 – Second Fix

This is when all of the plastering work will have been completed and we are ready to install the sockets, light fittings, switch plates and connect everything back up to the consumer unit ( Fuseboard ) and begin to test the circuits.
